"Trains "drive on the left" (i.e. northbound trains on the west track, southbound on the east). The single two-sided outside platform serves trains travelling in both directions. "

The above text appears in the second paragraph of the article. From what I can determine this in effect means that an island platform serves both lines (which would appear to be verified by the photograph further down the article). I am confused by the statement about trains driving on the left - as far as I know, this is normal practise, and it is not referred to in other articles on stations on this line that I have seen, so I am wondering why it is included here.

Does anyone know if the above statements are included because of some particular operational quirk that is not immediately obvious, or is it just a badly worded paragraph, which should be re-written to something like "A single island platform is used by both northbound and southbound services."?
