Cultural Heritage Controversy
An article: [1]https://www.timesunion.com/churchill/article/churchill-joseph-bruchac-truly-abenaki-18391772.php?IPID=Times-Union-HP-spotlight
and then commentary on the topic with more sources linked by Dr. Debbie Reese: [2]https://americanindiansinchildrensliterature.blogspot.com/search/label/Is%20Joseph%20Bruchac%20truly%20Abenaki
both make allegations about the authenticity of Joseph Bruchac's heritage claims. He presents himself as an "own voices" Indigenous author and is arguably the most well-known author in that category within the children's literature sphere. Many teachers use his materials. It is important that this information be included in this author's Wikipedia page so that the public can know this is an ongoing conversation happening. 136.41.4.126 (talk) 13:51, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

- speaks of Joseph Bruchac's grandparents "hiding in plain sight."
- Also, I'm the original poster of this topic regarding the author's heritage. Trinverarity20 (talk) 14:28, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
