Still functioning?
Anas Khattab was appointed as the head of the agency, it seems it was not dissolved but turned to be under the new administration
EDIT: I just found out about General Intelligence Service (Syria) and now it makes sense

Proposed merge of General Intelligence Service (Syria) into General Intelligence Directorate (Syria)
merge the General Intelligence Service (Syria) (GIS) into General Intelligence Directorate (Syria) (GID), and move the into General Intelligence Service (Syria). All of the information of the new GIS is already in the GID article, in 2024 section. The new GIS is just a new update to the intelligence service in Syria. The history section of (currently) the General Intelligence Directorate (Syria) contains information about its predecessors like the Department of General Security and Internal Security Forces Command. The same thing was done for the General Intelligence Service (Sudan) which was known as National Intelligence and Security Service before the Sudanese revolution FuzzyMagma (talk) 10:11, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose a radical change occured in Syria, all Assad's institutions have been dissolved. Different for Sudan.

- Sudan was an example. The General Intelligence Directorate (Syria) (GID) article talks about the Department of General Security (1945–1958) which was the French Mandate of Syria, Internal Security Forces Command (1961–1971) which operated during the United Arab Republic, and finally the Ba'athist Syria GID (1971–2024) FuzzyMagma (talk) 09:04, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- It is different. Department of General Security was during the First Republic of Syria. Assad regime have not radically change the institution. But we could also keep this article only for the 1963-2024 period, while the other page will be general. Panam2014 (talk) 13:08, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
