This is an interesting view of this motto.

Is there any evidence to support the stated origin?

I'm pretty sure this motto appears on the rotunda of the Museum of Science and Industry (redone for the fair) but I haven't personally checked. AaronSw 07:06, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

While not a direct source, I'm fairly sure this motto is qouted in the book "Things That Make Us Smart: Defending Human Attributes in the Age of the Machine", by Donald Norman.
