North Nova Education Centre, or NNEC, located in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada, officially opened on November twenty-fourth, 2003. The school's colors are blue and white, with the mascot being the Gryphon. It is one of two superschools (the other being Northumberland Regional High School) in the area. It includes over 900 students in grades 10, 11 and 12, who come from four 'feeder schools', East Pictou Middle School, New Glasgow Junior High School, Trenton Middle School and Thorburn Consolidated. NNEC has students from many areas of Pictou County.

The school is built in a ring design, around a large central courtyard. Sections of the school, or "pods", are organized by course and are grouped at the corners of the school - e.g. there is a math pod, a science pod, etc. Every pod except mathematics has it's own computer lab, equipped with between twenty-five and thirty computers.

The school was the source of some criticism when it was first announced and opened. Many in the area felt that merging four schools, who all had long-standing rivalries with one another, was a bad idea and would lead to an increase in fighting. This has proven to be somewhat true, although most students grow past it by their second or third year at the school.

NNEC boasts over 120 courses, including the Fine Arts (Music, Drama, Art), Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Oceans), Mathematics (Essentials-level, Foundations-level, Academic-level, Advanced-level and Pre-Calculus/Calculus), Languages (English and French), Technology (Film and Video, Design, Keyboarding) and OPP (Occupational Preparedness Program), which offers courses in automotive care, food services, forestry, and retail merchandising. Many courses are offered across two or three years, for example, Math 10, Math 11 and Math 12 are all offered, but in order to take Math 12 you must have first successfully completed Math 10 and 11.

NNEC has a wide variety of facilities for use, including:

• The "Mac Lab" - Computer Lab used for Film and Video
• A 350-seat auditorium/theatre
• A Weights Room
• A garage for Automotive Care
• Kitchens for Food Services
• "Fishbowls" in every area - small, computer-and-whiteboard equipped conference rooms
• Large, well-equipped music room

The school also has a large amphitheater towards the back, by the Students' Parking Lot, and this is a popular place to hold classes when the weather is nice.

NNEC has many committees, clubs and sports, including the Yearbook Committee, Spanish Club, Grad Committee, Dance Committee, Website Design Committee, Student Council, Spirit Committee and Walking Club. There is also a Youth Health Committee which organizes regular events to promote good health and safety. In addition to these clubs and organizations, there are many sports teams:

In the 2003-2004 school year, NNEC won the Northumberland Regional Boys Rugby Championship.

In 2005, Mr. Greene led the school debating team to the best result in Pictou County high school history, with Robbie White, Lacey Wilson and John MacKinnon capturing third place in the province.
