.na is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Namibia corresponding to the two letter code from ISO-3166 alpha-2.

Registry/Registrar Separation has been implemented, with Namibian and Foreign Registrars being accredited. The Registry supports a Web/GUI interface and EPP.

Currently the .na domain name is managed and administered by NA-NiC (Namibian Network Information Centre), a close corporation established in 1991 and run by Dr. Eberhard Lisse, who acquired the registry some years back and even went ahead to register .na as a trademark in his own name. The Namibian Government is currently in talks with Dr Eberhard Lisse, to take over the registry in compliance with a communication Act passed two years ago.[1][2]

Registrations are available at the second level or at the third level beneath various names that include some redundant choices (e.g., both .co.na and .com.na for commercial entities). Prices vary depending on the level at which a registration is made, the second-level name a third-level registration is beneath, and whether the registrant is domestic or foreign.

domain registration costs

It costs an estimated US$8–10 to register a .com domain name (N$58 to N$72), whereas the cost of registering a Namibian domain runs as high as N$995. Industry sources complain about the fact that in Namibia, unlike in other countries, it is not possible to register a domain online.[3]

Domain registration cost in US$ for foreign companies and expatriate are given in the table below. (1 US$ = 11 NA$ approximately) [4]

Domain Extension Price
.na US$7000
.co.na US$165
.cc.na US$1164
.org.na US$1164

Domain registration cost for local Namibian companies and citizens

Domain Extension Price
.na US$675
.co.na US$165
.cc.na US$120
.org.na US$120

.na has also been unofficially used as a TLD for North America. NA-NiC is a member of CoCCA and uses their Dispute Resolution.
