The British International School, Phuket (BISP) is an English-medium, co-educational, day and boarding school, established in 1996 as Dulwich International College, set amongst the foothills in the scenic heart of Phuket, Thailand. The purpose-built 157,800 square-metre campus includes high quality boarding accommodation and provides world-class facilities that enable students to excel in their studies, with High Performance Academies in Sports, Business and Arts. The student population consists of 840 day and boarding students, with some 50 different nationalities represented.

BISP provides a Pre-school, Primary and Secondary school education of the highest international standard. Key stages 1, 2 and 3 are based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. Students then complete the two-year IGCSE programme in Years 10 and 11, followed by the IB Diploma programme in Years 12 and 13.

The school has 100 fully qualified, full-time and five part-time teachers representing 16 different nationalities, including the UK, US, Canada, France and Australia. The school also has 40 Thai teaching assistants assisting in the primary and secondary schools.

The facility for sports in the school include 6 tennis courts, 2 primary sized football pitches, 8 middle school sized football pitches, an Olympic-sized 50 metre swimming pool, a 25 metre swimming pool, an indoor sports hall, a primary gym, a fitness gym, 2 indoor basketball courts and an outdoor basketball court.

British International School, Phuket offers a wide range of academic, artistic and sporting activities for students, through the Creativity Action Service (CAS) programme as well as optional courses offered by teachers and professionals. Activities are scheduled to suit all interests from the Model United Nations, Debating and Recycling Clubs, to the International Award, Computer Programming club and Ballet. The student-elected primary and secondary Student Councils raise funds in aid and support of local charitable initiatives. In the last three years, school musical performances ‘The Lion King’, ‘Grease’ and 'Oliver' have performed to sold out audiences.

BISP’s Aspirational Curriculum provides opportunities for students, usually in the final four years of school and organised around the mainstream curriculum, to pursue interests and career opportunities to a professional standard. The academies include:

Swim Academy: Now in its second year, the talented Swim Academy team has so far produced 12 Youth Olympic Games qualifying swims and set four national records, with our swimmers already breaking into the senior world rankings and two competing in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games

Football Academy: Under the expert technical guidance of Jonathas Candido, previously the Youth Coach for Brazil’s famous Cruzeiro club, we offer the chance to pursue a professional career in football, with scholarship opportunities

Tennis Academy: As an RPT Centre of Excellence and Official Training Centre, we offer the chance to pursue a professional career in tennis under the world famous RPT system

Golf Academy: Offers the chance to train on Phuket’s best golf courses under the direction of a professional golf coach

Art & Design Academy: Provides a unique opportunity for selected students to learn how to succeed as artists

Business Academy: The academy runs as an extra-curricular educational programme, and focuses on developing business management, finance and entrepreneurship skills

Film & Digital Media Academy: Providing students with the opportunity to experience all aspects of commercial film production, including directing, producing and editing

BISP’s annual BISP Soccer 7s international school football tournament in 2013 accommodated more than 1,100 competitors, aged eight to 18 years old, from 26 schools located in nine different countries, making it the largest football tournament of its kind anywhere in the world.
