Mithras
Bacchiad, since the sancity of an oath or contract was such a basic purpose of a god, the etymology of Mithra you've mentioned is too important to be slipped in as a clause. Look into the Vedic hymns, and expand the etymology of Mithra as "contract" or "promise" in its own headed paragraph at Mithras! I'll format it if you like: just get these facts into the entry!Wetman 17:17, 20 Mar 2004 (UTC)

::One reason not to separate Mithra from Mithras is that the difference is precisely what one needs to know, in order to understand what was subtly different about Roman ideas of "Mithras." Wetman 18:38, 20 Mar 2004 (UTC)
