Revision as of 13:55, 15 March 2006
If you've come here having recently created a page that has just been marked to say it may soon be deleted, then please understand that we mean no harm in deleting your page. In fact, welcome to Wikipedia. We're delighted to have you, but the page you created seemed to be something other than an encyclopedia article. If it was a test, congratulations – you succeeded in creating a page. Please use the sandbox for further testing, or create a user page for yourself.
If your article was not a test, you may have created a page that met the criteria for speedy deletion. If so, please see our guidelines on writing perfect stubs to see how you could improve the page to something that will not be instantly deletable.
For more information, please read our deletion policy.
Using this page
For articles that need deletion, add {{deletebecause|Reason.}} or {{db|Reason.}} to the top of the page. You should not wipe out the contents as it helps to check the contents to be deleted without having to look at the page history. This expands to:
Template loop detected: Template:Db-reason
Replace Reason with the reason why the page should be deleted under the speedy deletion criteria.
Other templates available that give a reason include {{nonsense}} and {{db-bio}}. They may be used where appropriate.
(You can also use {{delete}} or {{d}} if you prefer not to provide a reason, but it is generally a good idea to provide a reason, even where it seems "obvious" to you.)
Note that if you just replace the content with {{db|reason}} the prior content will not be automatically added to the deletion log summary when the page is deleted.
See below for instructions regarding the deletion of personal subpages.
For articles that do not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, please use Wikipedia:Proposed deletion (for deletions likely to meet no opposition) or Wikipedia:Articles for deletion (for controversial deletions). Please do not list pages here that are already listed there.
Advice for administrators
- Review our admin deletion guidelines
- Use Category:Candidates for speedy deletion for a list of pages
- Check talk pages, page history, what links here (especially for potentially controversial user pages), etc. If there is a dispute over whether the page should be deleted, consider first listing it on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion
- If the page to be deleted is directly related to a specific user or that user's activities, consider moving the page to that user's personal userspace (and deleting the redirect) instead of deleting it outright.
- Don't worry too much [1] — new pages patrol is unpleasant, and people will make mistakes. Wikipedia:Speedy deletion patrol goes through the deletion logs to catch stuff that shouldn't have been speedied, without rancor or excessive red tape. Feel free to be efficient!
Deletion of personal pages
Unless you are a sysop, it is not possible to delete your own user pages and subpages, so they must be listed here. If you are a sysop, it is recommended that you also list your pages here so they can be deleted by another sysop. For your main user or talk pages, you must list them here, not delete them yourself, to avoid the appearance that sysops can delete to hide negative comments, while others can't.
Only post pages from your own personal page, and only if you have a genuine reason for requesting a personal page of yours be deleted, please list it here.
Please see Wikipedia:User page for further instructions, and Wikipedia talk:Personal subpages to be deleted for past discussion on this issue.

Deletion of Articles
Requested
- Arkan.JPG - joke edited version of a copyrighted photograph from Blood & Honey by Ron Haviv (also posted note on today's copyright problems page, wasn't sure which had priority) NEMT 05:35, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Don't forget Hanlon's Razor 00:49, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Tomax7 - nn bio. See this version from before he tried to hide that fact. AfD is unanimous for delete and someone found this evidence that it's a vanity page and therefore meets SD criteria. Kafziel 13:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Please note that despite the first sentence, this article is not about a company. It is about Tom McLaughlin and how cool everybody thinks he is. Kafziel 13:15, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Endless (comics) - The correct page for this entry is 'The Endless,' although it's presently found at 'The Endless (comics),' something else I'm working on fixing. Regardless, I created the latter via a copy/paste move (Endless (comics) has/had no history of which to speak), so I'm asking that it (Endless (comics)) now be deleted. Thanks. Drasil 20:53, 13 March 2006 (UTC)- I've cleaned this up — the article content is now back at Endless (comics) from where it was copied and pasted, and the requested move tag has been moved to Talk:Endless (comics) also. The Endless (comics) is now a redirect. — sjorford (talk) 18:25, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Noble Ackerson - some unknown guy's personal biography.Tutmosis 04:31, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Time dilation and length contraction - redundant - There are already pages in Wikipedia covering these topics separately, in better depth, and with more correct information. Gregory9 05:36, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Car Rack - No content whatsoever except a stub marker. Kafziel 05:46, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Simultaneous Length Contraction - redundant - This page is poorly developed, heavy on POV, and appears to be created so the author can link to his paper. There are already other pages in Wikipedia covering relativity "paradoxes" in better depth. Gregory9 11:49, 14 March 2006 (UTC)*
- Tom Greenfield - someones personal biography. Tutmosis 19:20, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- m:Help:Lnik - This page was used as an (non-existent) example in the Help:Links page, but someone created it; it is empty. KHenriksson 01:36, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- RythMatik - Vanity page. --Jino 10:30, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Deletion of Redirects
Requested
- Userboxes - redirect to deleted page. Shir Khan 20:41, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- I personally think that should redirect to Wikipedia:Userboxes. Tutmosis 19:29, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- AFAIK cross-namespace redirects are considered bad style. Shir Khan 21:15, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- Please delete Jerusalem's Lot (disambiguation) for "housekeeping". There is no reason for this disambig; I created it to differentiate between 'Salem's Lot and Jerusalem's Lot, but both of those articles have disambig links to each other now. Kafziel 20:53, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Questioned speedy deletions
F.U.P.A., or fupa, is becoming a common slang term. As an acronym, I do not think it meets the criteria for a neologism (which you have spelled incorrectly on you deletion notification - F.Y.I.). It has made it's way into songs and even onto shirts. Also, if someone told me that I had a F.U.P.A., I would want to have some avenue to discover what it was.
Spring Thomas is well known in the Pornography world and she is mentioned in two wikipedia artichles. I'm sorry, but Pornography is relevant in todays world, like it or not. And i am not part of the industry. Be cool, guys!
Vampygames is extremley well known in our area, and I have heard several complaints that it still does not have a Wikipedia entry. I took the initiative and made it. I just started it, and I don't belive that it is only about individuals that don't add to the topic. I just wrote how it had started, and I was going to add more quickly. Please don't delete this right away. 8:50 EST, 9 March 3006
'Trout bum' is a highly notable term in the flyfishing world and was first coined in the 1980s by John Gierach, the dean of flyfishing literature in his work, "Trout Bum." Trout Bums are famous throughout flyfishing, to the point that clothing is labelled with the (non-commercial) phrase "Trout Bum." The statement "I am a trout bum" is a bit of a manifesto among those who fly fish. In short, this is not a new concept (neologism) or something undeserving of notice (non-notable). Incidentally, non-notable is a word and non-notabile is not; why is it misspelled in the speedy deletion notice?
This term deserves recognition.
In my opinion although this article contains many links to others it, itself serves any purpose other than to promote the creator. I feel that this self promtion has no place on wikipedia, as it serves no purpose to other users. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dazwx1101 (talk • contribs)

The article has been updated. It now gives several reasons for importance of band and notability, also including a new disc. and external links. This article has been refered to before I created it, and I am positive it will expand. Zeke73SG, JurjenL and myself are all interested in contributing. I do not believe that the matter of this article being deleted or not is any issue any longer. The0208 02:38, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have added Old Time Relijun's exstensive discography which should further establish their legitimacy. Also, a link to the article making reference to de Dionyso's inovative use of overtone singing.Jurjen 02:49, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
The label was previously mentioned on List of independent record labels since 6 January but an article was not made until just now. The article is significant to North Dakota culture and will expand in breadth and scope over time. --AlexWCovington (talk) 05:20, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
For small town North Dakota something that can get kids involved is a necessity. This record label has signed several local acts and releases cds periodically. --Lonegunmun 05:44, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
I've never even been to that area of the country (hell, the closest I've ever come to the Dakotas is Eastern Ohio), but I'm a huge, huge fan of Chuck Klosterman. He would want this page to exist, and thus, so do I. Kicking222 19:00, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
The reason given for this stub's speedy delete is non-notability. I have since expanded its content somewhat, and linked to other articles on Wikipedia, in an attempt to rectify the situation. I'm also going to repost what I wrote on the article's talk page:
Seiji Kameda is a music producer involved with several albums by Do As Infinity, a popular japanese band. Wikipedia pages that link to this article: Break of Dawn (album), New World (album), Do the Best, True Song (album), Gates of Heaven (album), Do The B-Side, etc, copied straight from What links here. The man appears to be a minor celebrity in Japan. I'd say that's fairly notable - hopefully the Management will see it fit to let this article grow. Tronno ( t | c ) 05:54, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Trivial, at best needs a line in a list. non-notable. ignored since posted - essentiallyMidgley 17:26, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Speedy D. Too specific of an article. Put in list as nom. --Jared [T]/ 21:08, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
I have expanded this page, which includes some details about why this writer is important. He has written eleven books, many of which are Dragonlance novels.
The Jenova Project is a very popular name in the Metal scene of Bangladesh, and the mysterious nature of the band and its members adds to its popularity. The band has already achieved a kind of celebrity status among "Metal freaks". As for the band not having an album released yet...an album deal has already been signed with a record label called G-Series. The only reason why it hasn't yet been released is rather simple -- all the band members are students, and they are busy with studies, exams and whatnot, and hence the recording sessions have been put on hold until the end of May 2006. Please, PLEASE don't delete this article. - Parasyte941 11:24, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Important subject matter covering a controversial organisation with 40,000 members and a multi-million dollar budget. Early version did not explain that very well. Speedy delete should be removed. --2006BC 23:56, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
This is my own user sub-page. It's not an article on the mainspace. People on the discussion at this part of Hell's talk page told me that it was a good idea to move the list to a personal subpage instead, so I did just that. It shouldn't offend freakofnurture because he isn't related to anyone on the list, and that list is somewhat of a "hobby list" (or things of that sort, whatever it's called.) --Shultz III 09:58, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm not exactly sure why this was deleted. Jonathan Burdick is the popular writer for Cinema Fusion (http://www.cinemafusion.com), which gets thousands of hits per day, and is widely spoken and discussed about on internet message boards and towns across America. He has two novels in the works, and his short writings have quickly gathered a cult following. --DoobieDoobieDoo 04:29, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
- Don't be disingenuous. Your article was deleted because it was a useless, inane crock of garbage full of lies and stupidity. If someone wants to contribute a real article on Jonathan Burdick, they are welcome to do so (assuming he is genuinely notable). DS 23:32, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
