Colditz Castle
Hello. I was editing the references in this article, trying to provide additional publication information, and I came across one – Eric J. Narveson Prison Citadel – for which I could find no trace of its existence. I did a Google search, and searched Amazon.com and Bookfinder.com, but nothing. Since I believe you added it to the article with this edit some years ago, I was wondering if you could provide any additional information about it? I've commented it out in the meantime. Thanks, Beyond My Ken (talk) 07:21, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Recent contributions

Having noticed your recent contributions to Wikipedia following your retirement, I have reactivated your user talk page, should Wikipedians have any questions regarding your most recent edits. SchuminWeb (Talk) 15:33, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to you

Dear Alkivar, I don't know if you saw this edit, but as it mentions you, I thought you should be aware of it. Sincerely, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 02:36, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake

It looks like I made a regrettable mistake by casting my oppose vote while mistakenly ascribing to the candidate the views that belonged to a totally different person. I can't understand how I got the wrong name stuck in my head. Please see [1] [2] [3] for the background. As my vote affected your vote cast in the immediate aftermath, I would like to prompt you to this development. I already apologized to the candidate but I am also sorry to have unintentionally misled you. Please reconsider the candidate completely disregarding the issue I have mistakenly brought up. Regards, --Irpen 06:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My vote was not entirely based upon yours, but a combination of it and the responses to the questions asked of the candidate. My vote stands as it is. But thank you for the notification. ALKIVAR 06:43, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good Idea

You banned me several months ago for the same action that earned me a Thank You from the founder of Wikipedia. Anyone who makes that kind of decision should not be an admin here. You made the right decision to retire. Wesleymullins (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 18:40, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That was priceless. Not only a backhanded-compliment but a pat on your own back as well. You made the wrong decision in leaving such a comment - it served even less than no purpose, if that's possible. the_undertow talk 04:02, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

Good to see you dipping your toe back in the water. I hope you'll be back editing actively some time soon. Condiments of the seasoning and all, Guy (Help!) 18:50, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Hello Alkivar, I have a question. Over six months ago, you were the only opposer in my second RfA. Your rationale was that after reading all 28 opposers in the first RfA, you didn't believe all the concerns listed there had been addressed, that there was no way you could support the second one, and ended it with "maybe next year". Well, it's now 2008: tell me, what concerns at the time did you believe had not been addressed, and do you believe they have been addressed now? Thanks. Acalamari 00:48, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate a response to this. Thanks. Acalamari 19:33, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't paid much attention to wiki since my desysopping, quite frankly I dont know if you've changed. But by virtue of the fact your coming to me, calm and level headed, I would guess that they have been addressed. ALKIVAR 01:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Alkivar, for the detailed and honest response. Best wishes. Acalamari 19:14, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beer category decision

As you took part in the last Great Beer Cat Discussion, I thought you might be interested in this one: A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. If you're interested, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Beer#Brewery_cats. SilkTork *YES! 18:25, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RantMedia to stay in Wikipedia

As you were previously involved in AfD discussions regarding RantMedia and Sean Kennedy (Author), I respectfully request your attendance to the current Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RantMedia. I believe there have been MANY productive responses to concerns on past AfD's, but some still don't seem to agree. If there is any way you can think of improving the article, or contributing to the current AfD, I would appreciate it. File permission problem with File:BadBoyBill.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:BadBoyBill.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 21:27, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Ty and Renee Ziegel.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ty and Renee Ziegel.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. K32423 (talk) 05:46, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Georgecarlinmugshot.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Georgecarlinmugshot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 09:39, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Necromancer Remorse.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Necromancer Remorse.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:05, 18 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. IngerAlHaosului (talk) 15:05, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Joe Francis

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Joe Francis. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joe Francis. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:03, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You want to leave Wikipedia for the reasons stated, yet in the past you have tried to block users for minor rule infractions. You once tried to block me for "improper photos blah blah blah". Yet your decision was reversed the next day and thousands of good faith edits later, here I am. Lighten up. If you cant always assume good faith, keep it in even simpler terms, "Its all good!" :) AlaskaMike (talk) 04:30, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Alkivar! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the article:
