Dino Shafeek (also known as Dino Shaffer) (1929 - March 10, 1984) was a Bangladeshi actor. He attended Guildhall school of Music and Drama, and in Dacca University in Bangladesh where he completed his Bachelor of Arts. He was probably best known for the part of 'Char Wallah Muhammed' in the BBC sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum, though he also appeared as a regular in the sitcom Mind Your Language as Ali from 1977 to 1979. His first role was 'Akbar' in The Long Duel in 1967. He also appeared in Special Branch. His last role was 'Satvinder' in High Road to China in 1983.
Ali Nadeem
Shafeek worked as Ali Nadeem on the show Mind Your Language. Nadeem was a Pakistani living in the UK. In the serial, Ali Nadeem was frequently seen quarreling with Ranjeet Singh, a sikh from India. Ali called Ranjeet names like "poppadum".
