:Alas, this article is a good candidate for deletion. Not only is there no particular standard, I don't think it would be possible to come up with a viable standard beyond simple notability. Because that would admit thousands and perhaps tens of thousands of notable chefs worldwide and throughout history for all types of cuisine, this lends itself better to a category structure than a list article.Any attempt to create a "super" category of especially notable or great chefs would inevitably be a matter of opinion, whether that of the article editors, food critics at large, or others, and there is likely no well-accepted standard for that. To the extent there are some official designations (e.g. Michelin stars) those can and often are handled by their own specific categories and articles, and cannot claim to be a definitive list. Accordingly I am nominating this for deletion under WP:PROD. - Wikidemon (talk) 08:34, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Alas, this article is a good candidate for deletion. Accordingly I have left a note for the article creator.- Wikidemon (talk) 08:34, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
