Piano four hands is a specific form of duet for a single piano with two players. A duet with the players playing separate instruments is a piano duo.

Notable compositions for piano four hands include Sixteen Waltzes for piano, four hands by Johannes Brahms and the Dolly suite by Gabriel Fauré. Franz Schubert was also a prolific composer of works for piano four hands.
