Category
When you want to put [[Category...]] on a talk page, preceed it with a colon, like so: [[:Category...]], or it will add the talk page to the category in question. I fixed up User_talk:Gillian_Reed. The : is necessary on images-as-links and categories-as-links and can be used without harm on other wikilinks. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:00, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

MfD notifications
Please don't canvass user talk pages to recruit participation in MfDs. It may present a skewed perspective to the closing administrator, particularly where you only notify Guido's friends and supporters. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 16:37, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. I am aware of WP:Canvas I believe my two notifications, to two people who have participated in this discussion on the talk page before, fell within those guidelines. travb (talk) 16:51, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Such notifications are almost certainly unnecessary; I would expect that users interested in the fate of the page would have it watchlisted. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 16:58, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi,
- You may also be interested in this. It's not really a RFC (there was one and it has failed to change his behavior), it's being built under the expectation that a permaban or block will one day be implemented and evidence will be needed. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 17:44, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- thank you. I think I have said what I feel needs to said on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Guido den Broeder/Wikipedia, the Social Experiment. Regardless, the essay is going to be deleted. travb (talk) 17:59, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Anyway, I'm far more of a deletionist than inclusionist, so no doubt there's a fundamental disagreement between us. But we couldn't have wikipedia without debate, so even if I disagree I must support your right to voice your disagreement. No hard feelings? WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 12:10, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- I hope you feel that way after realizing that I started to argue again about the deletion of the page.
- No hard feelings and I respect you until you start deleting articles I have spent months working on. Lets hope that never happens.
- I wrote then deleted a message to TenOfAllTrades on the miscellaneous village pump in response to his condescending message. Talking about how his experience on wikipedia was probably vastly different then mine. Yours has probably been radically different too.
- Of my 26,000 edits, 3,000 have been deleted. Many more would have been deleted if I hadn't fought tooth and nail for them. My contributions are firm. I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories either, just minority viewpoints, and I can out source anyone. My views are simply anti-American, against the views of most Americans. Instead of sourcing their own POV, these edit warriors take the easy route, and delete, delete, delete.
- I think 9/11 conspiracy theorist views are flawed and ridiculous, but I have supported them in the past, often because they edit some of the same 9/11 articles. Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/September 11 conspiracy theories is one more example of the majority marginalizing and silencing the minority. The administrative favoritism and abuse that were perpetrated is deeply troubling. Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_arbitration/September_11_conspiracy_theories#Statement_by_User:Inclusionist
- Most whites in America think the system works, most blacks, who are poor and on the bottom don't. The reason why is because those whites have the system working for them, whereas blacks don't. Editors believe in the system and worship the system, because the system works for you.
- Editors feel vastly different if you had to fight tooth and nail for almost every edit you made. travb (talk) 12:25, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Gillian Reed
Hey, Inclusionist, Gillian here. Just wanted to say thanks for putting the article onto my userpage. This may help bring their composer, Linda Mancia, back to Wikipedia, and Linda has some info crucial for putting Tyranta on Wikipedia. Also thanks for trying to help out when nearly getting involved with the Wikipedia officials. I'm trying to track down some sources that may be able to be of use. There was something about it in the Star Review, I'll go check the Ann's site when it gets up.
-Gillian Reed (talk) 20:45, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Glad I could help, it is amazing how cruel and heartless editors can be here.
- Although that other editor you turn too first didn't seem ot happy about my help. He made a point to contradict my points on a policy page. travb (talk) 21:17, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Roosting Chickens
In response to the work you posted, I might just recommend Noam Chomsky. There are many problems with U.S. foreign policy, but the antiwar movement has shown progress.--70.224.16.81 (talk) 09:24, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
Inclusionist, thanks for your support at the MfD. Unfortunately, despite all the good arguments, we got overruled. Guido den Broeder (talk, visit) 12:52, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

- I don't know who you are. I thought you were someone arguing WP:Canvas, only a matter of time. travb (talk) 01:24, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- You can get your article speedy deleted. Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion General, #7, using {{db-reason|author nominates for deletion}}. Glad I can help. travb (talk) 01:27, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Nevermind, see my comments on the article AfD page. travb (talk) 01:31, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, I just edit-conflicted twice with you.
--Dylan620 Contribs Sign! 01:35, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, the edit conflict was my fault.
- Be proud you created a new article, in the years to come, it may become a featured article, all because of your hard work. Thanks :) travb (talk) 01:36, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

RE:Zoids articles
Thank you for your concern, but I actually do not care either way about the fate of the articles TTN has listed for deletion. -- saberwyn 00:56, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Just trying to help, I wish I knew half of that information in that template on your talk page when I was a new editor. :) Best wishes. travb (talk) 00:57, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Finding first author of an article
Hi - I noticed this request. You may find this api.php query helpful:
-- Rick Block (talk) 10:30, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- thanks!:
- Interesting that there is User:Fairness And Accuracy For All's name there....Can you direct me to instructions on how to use this?
- travb (talk) 18:19, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- The API documentation is at MW:API. What this particular query does is similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Inclusionist&dir=prev&action=history&limit=1. -- Rick Block (talk) 18:32, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. :) I was looking at MW:API, and the link really helps. travb (talk) 18:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- OH, I get it! LOL.
- In Microsoft Word, I simply do find and replace with the ^p (paragraph mark):
- Find: ^p
- Replace: &rfstartid=0&rvdir=newer&rvlimit=1&rvprop=user&prop=revisions&format=xml^phttp://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&titles=
- Thanks! travb (talk) 18:46, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Can you tell me what you're trying to accomplish? -- Rick Block (talk) 19:00, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, I am trying to alert users to AfDs. travb (talk) 19:03, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- There are several bots that have done this, see (for example) Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/BJBot 4. This particular one doesn't seem to be running anymore, but the bot's creator is still active here (user talk:Bjweeks). You might want to talk this over with him. -- Rick Block (talk) 19:29, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Rick, thanks. You have been so helpful. My paranoid side is just waiting for the hammer to drop, but thus far everyone has been pleasant and helpful, especially you. :) travb (talk) 19:32, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Let me know
No, I won't. Monitor MFD yourself. Roughly 95% of what is posted there is garbage and deserves to be deleted; the other 5% of the pages are usually historical pages that should be kept. I rarely comment on MFD or indeed any deletion process, unless I have an alternative viewpoint to add. I think "me too" votes are often unhelpful in a process that should work on the strength of arguments. Thanks for the support, though. Graham87 06:48, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Deletion warning
I wondered where you got the warning template that you placed on User talk:AAraxin, saying "Your hard work is about to be deleted" - which seems to me like scaremongering and rather inappropriate. I can't find this template listed anywhere; please could you enlighten me? Deb (talk) 18:39, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Could I have a response to this question, please? I'm concerned that User:AAraxin has been frightened off contributing as a result of your approach. Deb (talk) 12:17, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Guido
Hi Inclusionist,
I'd love to say that I was universally welcoming and helpful, but more than once I've been sufficiently irritated or outright angry to be far less civil. Thanks very much, I appreciate your very kind and encouraging remark and that you both reviewed his talk page and thought to make the comment.
If you're looking for an example of Guido pushing against consensus, you might look into a couple talk page sections - Talk:Alternative names for chronic fatigue syndrome#Totally disputed (3) and the others below this (a diff-by-diff reading starting from here might be instructive). Keep in mind that the ME/CFS issue has been been addressed at least twice (October, 2007 and September, 2008); note my initial agnostic stance in 2007, then 2008 I review everything Guido presents and disagree with his conclusion. In my mind, after editing a fair amount of medical articles, the sources just aren't reliable and mainstream enough to support a separate page for each term. He may argue that one is a diagnosis and one is a disease, but it's just not reflected in the main sources from what I can see. After a year of dealing with that same pushing, and that being one item out of many that were problematic in my mind, I was quite certain that the ban was justified. But you may not be convinced, and very understandably not want to take the time. No matter what, I appreciate that you took a moment to drop me a comment. Thanks! WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 23:22, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
But , I already told you that the film is just formally announced. So, not much information can be putten.

Thank you for drawing my attention to the discussion on this article, but as I created the article, surely there would be a conflict of interest in my getting involved? Autarch (talk) 09:33, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well it hasn't stopped you before. Why quit now? --Balloholic (talk) 22:29, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Absolutely not--you can strongly advocate the page be kept. There is a conflict of interest page, WP:COI, whic does not apply here, and is selectevly enforced anyway. If you need help, please let me know. travb (talk) 14:30, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
