story tag
This is an encycolopedia entry, we don't need description of the story in fansite style. It needs cutting down. There is also a serious problem with crap like this: "it was cute when they sang it but scary when she sings it in this scene" - change this please
Novel
why is there no mention of the novel?
Reception
How popular is it, what have critics said?
Kanji translation.
Would someone care to translate Ai's "Ippen, shindemiru?" speach to a more litteral translation? It doesn't matter much, but I think it would be better of as a true translation instead of a common fan-sub.
Futakomori?
Is the second season (Futakomori), a prequel or a sequel? From the looks of the first few episodes it could be either. Episode one hints at a sequel when Ren or Hone says "she's been through alot" or something like that. But the second episode hints at a prequel, when Wannyudo tells about Ai's ability to she the past (he says: "she can show us"). -- Psi edit 18:42, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I would speculate that it's a sequel; there are slight differences in Ai's behaviour in Futakomori as opposed to in the first series, which I believe are due to her having remembered her past and overcome her grudge; she is somewhat more expressive and human. Art is life and life is an art. 23:32, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, she's acting more human now, strongly implies that this is a sequel... I can't actually see any proof that this would be a prequel... "She can show us" might just imply that Wanyuudou knows more about Ai then Ren and Onna does.
- Yeah there's no where to go in this discussion. The fact that Ai acts more human is enough to show that this is a sequel. -- Psi edit 16:21, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
It is definitely a sequel sense in one of the episodes there is a mention of tsugumi and the Detective reads a book written by her father-[Binarymoron] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.92.0.113 (talk) 18:40, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Enma Ai
The name Enma Ai has a very interesting translation. Enma - Devil, Ruler of Hades Ai - Among the many translations of Ai is this one Ai - Accomplice So one can say Enma Ai means Devils Accomplice. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.18.60.24 (talk) 13:30, 14 January 2007 (UTC).
Wow, nice name indeed
Third Season?
I was watching the last episode of futakomori and was wondering if anyone thinks there will be a third season, or if there is any confirmation of such.
- I haven't watched till the end yet but reading the article, it leaves speculation for a third season, especially with Kikuri's mysterious appearance and role being a little "unfulfilled" in futakomori. What do the rest of you guys think?

- Ai seems to be gone for good. Unless a third chapter was all about flashbacks or something forces Ai to return, how could there be a third chapter? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aebliss (talk • contribs) 06:29, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
- You're forgetting Kikuri's bigger role. She seems to be a pest most of the time in the show. Perhaps a little more detailed past describing the events in her life? And how she became what she truly is...
pmc 00:36, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure that's necessary. She may be little more than a golem, created by the lord of Hell; a tool with just enough independent personality to fool people, yet not enough willpower to resist her master's wishes. At any rate, unless the company that produced Jigoku shoujo announces there will be a third season, there won't be. Art is life and life is an art. 22:19, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- Of course that is unquestionable. But in hopes for a third season to surface, it is still in a logic state of mind to say that there is a new "Hell Girl", and like it was stated here before, it definitely isn't Enma Ai and not necessarily should be her at all. It could even be Kikuri, controlled by the Hell Lord himself. But maybe she can even partake on the job at her own will. But it all falls to the team's decision, duh.

Lord of Hell
I haven't watch the 2nd season yet but is the lord of hell really Lucifer or Belzeebub?
- He isn't identified by any actual name. The character's voice is the same as that of the Spider/giant jellyfish thing and Wanyuudou just calls him the lord of Hell.

Tsugumi/Ayumi?
"In the second season, she makes a quick appearance, showing that her connection with Hell Girl still exists. At the same time, it seems that she has a mutual relationship with Kikuri (revealed in the last episode of the second season)."
Isn't this should be move into Tsugumi's section? IIRC, Ayumi makes no appearance in the second season and the one who talked with Kikuri's reflection on the crossroad is clearly Tsugumi. (She calls Hajime Hajime-chan, "Hajime-chan wo shijite") --58.9.109.152 17:06, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Translating/transliterating the title
Exactly why is it that other sources spell the title as "Jigoku Shoujo"? I find this quite strange.
Nbahn 16:10, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- This is actually a removal of the usage of the :ō". When used without it, the letter leaves the vocal "u" behind. This is evident by many other series or Japanese names in general.

Episodes
I'm in the process of creating separate pages for the episodes, as the lists make the main article look cluttered. Additionally, I've reformatted the episode lists in accordance to WP:EPISODE and WP:NPOV, as the formerly used episode list format included a lot of unecessary elements and were written in a non-neutral fashion. Can someone help out by filling out the missing episode summaries? I've finished creating the List of Jigoku Shōjo episodes, and will be working on list for the second season tomorrow. Scratch that; I just finished creating the page: List of Jigoku Shōjo Futakomori episodes. It has no episode summaries because I haven't seen much of the second season yet. --SilentAria talk 14:34, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
