Template:Infobox Lost Character-1 Paulo is a fictional character on the third season of the ABC television series Lost played by Rodrigo Santoro. A survivor of Oceanic Flight 815, he and Nikki Fernandez were romantically involved.

Template:Spoiler Paulo is a con artist working with his girlfriend Nikki. Just before the crash, they murder a wealthy television director and steal his diamonds, which are worth $8 million.

In "Exposé," Paulo and Nikki searched for the diamonds, until Paulo found them without telling Nikki because he believed them to be the only reason for their relationship. One day while looking in the jungle for the diamonds, Nikki and Paulo come across the DHARMA Initiative Pearl station. Nikki is uninterested and Paulo later returns to go down by himself, hiding the diamonds in the toilet. While in the washroom, Paulo overhears Ben Linus and Juliet Burke talk about the captures of Jack Shephard, Kate Austen, James "Sawyer" Ford and Michael Dawson, however he keeps this information to himself.

When Locke offers the survivors the opportunity to venture back to the Pearl Station in "The Cost of Living," Paulo's girlfriend Nikki volunteers to go, much to the surprise of Paulo, who accompanies her after she says that he always complains about being left behind. When in the hatch, Paulo exhibits a constant sarcastic behaviour, and does little to contribute, although he does return to the toilet to retrieve the diamonds. As they leave, the group witnesses Mr. Eko's death. He and the others bury Eko in "I Do."

Nikki finds out about Paulo hiding the diamonds from her, and in anger releases a venomous spider on him that causes Paulo to be paralyzed for eight hours. Nikki also gets bitten. The pair are mistaken for being dead and were buried alive. As they were being buried, Nikki opened her eyes, suggesting the pair's death could be avoided. Template:Endspoiler
