Leigh Bromby (Born June 2, 1980 in Dewsbury) is a football player who currently plays for Sheffield United.

Bromby started his footballing career at Liversedge before being spotted by Sheffield Wednesday. He then progressed through the Sheffield Wednesday youth academy, before joining Mansfield Town on loan for three months.

At Mansfield, he scored his first career goal in a 3-1 home win over Southend United in January 2000. His Football League debut however had come much earlier on December 12 in a 0-0 draw at Barnet.

He was back at Hillsborough the following season but had to wait until December 2000 before making his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He spent part of the 2002-2003 season on loan at Norwich City before returning to Wednesday. After making 112 appearances for the club he moved to local rivals Sheffield United in a free transfer on May 24, 2004.

He made his debut for Sheffield United against Burnley at Turf Moor on August 7, 2004 in a 1-1 draw, and played in all 46 league matches that season.

Blessed with a good touch and long throw, Bromby is calm with the ball and can play as a central defender or right back and has impressed at Bramall Lane since his switch from Hillsborough in 2004.

On August 15 2006, he signed a new three year contract with Sheffield United, with an option for a further year.
