Sabita Rana Magar (born July 7, 2003) (Nepali: सबिता राणा मगर or सबिता राना मगर) is a Nepalese footballer known for her exceptional skills as a midfielder playing national team and clubs.

Early life and background

Magar began her football journey at a young age, quickly rising through the ranks due to her talent and dedication. Her passion for the sport led her to represent Nepal at various youth levels, showcasing her potential on the international stage.

Club career

Sabita plays for the Armed Police Force Club (APF FC), one of Nepal's leading women's football clubs. During the 2024 ANFA Women's League, she was instrumental in her team's success, contributing significantly to their offensive play. Notably, she was among the top scorers of the league, netting 11 goals.

Domestic career

Magar has been playing locally in various matches. In 2019 Nepal National Women League, she scored hat-trick for her Chandrapur. [1]

Her goal played vital role for APF club to win the ANFA league match for four times in a row. [2]

International career

On the international front, Sabita has been a vital member of the Nepal women's national football team. She has participated in several international tournaments, including the WAFF Women's Championship and AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying matches. Her performances have been commendable, with her contributions in midfield earning her recognition. She debut in 9th September for Nepal Women's Team.[3]

In 2024 SAFF Women’s Championship, Magar scored one goal in semi-finals against India .[4] She also scored against Maldives and Sri Lanka in the same championship. [5][6]

Magar was also a critical player in Four Nation Women Championship.[7][8]

Magar scored in a friendship match against Bangladesh in 2079BS. [9]

She also participated in West Asia Women Championship in 2024. [10] There she scored against Jordan. [11]

Accolades

In the 2024 ANFA Women's League, Sabita was honored with the Most Valuable Player award, highlighting her outstanding contributions to the sport.[12]
