Magnus Francisco Lopez (Mexican/Norwegian, born 10 February 2006) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a Striker for Norwegian Third Division club Lyn 2 and for the Lyn 1896 under 19 academy club.
Early life
Magnus Francisco Lopez.[1] was born on 10 February 2006 in Oslo, Norway.
Lopez started his early football development at the Football Technique School (FTS) in Melbourne Australia. In 2018 he played at Macca's City Cup , which is one of the largest football tournaments in Victoria, and on the Player of the Tournament Award[2], winning a prize of $1000 AUD, and showing early signs of a promising potential.
Nationality
Lopez holds the Mexican and Norwegian nationality, which currently allows him to represent both the Norwegian and Mexican national teams[3].
Club career
Early career
In 2019 he moved to Norway and joined the Stabæk U14 academy where he played until 2020.
In the summer of 2022 he moved to Mexico City to play with the Club America U17 where he represented the club at international competitions and started to develop his abilities as a Striker.
Early 2023 he moved back to Norway to join the Lyn Football Academy where he has scored a total of 57 goals[4]. In 2024 Lopez had an exceptionally good season scoring at total of 40 goals in all tournaments[4], finishing the year as the leading top scorer of the u19 (Interkrets A) league with a total of 25 goals[5].
Lyn 1896 (Reserves)
Lopez played for Lyn 2[6] in 2024 scoring a total of 15 goals and helping the team get promoted to the Norwegian Third Division. The team finished the year as the Oslo District (4th Division) champions[7] and Lopez finished as the second top scorer of the league[8]
Lopez will look for the opportunity to cement his position in the Lyn first team during the 2025 season[9]
