The Central District of Taleqan County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان طالقان) is in Taleqan County, Alborz province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Taleqan.[3][a]

History

In 2010, Savojbolagh County was separated from Tehran province in the establishment of Alborz province.[5] Taleqan District was separated from the county in the establishment of Taleqan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Taleqan[a] as its capital and only city.[3]

At the time of the 2016 National Census, the district's population was 9,476 in 3,549 households.[2]
